Quackerstone Duck Racing

Quackerstone Duck Racing

Looking for something fun to do in sl with friends or for a fun date night?  Quackerstone Duck Racing may just be what you are looking for!  Risin and I just had a go at it and had a blast.

When you arrive, step over to the giant yellow duckie and click on the big red button below him.  You have your choice of fast or slow ducks to ride and race.  The fast are a bit harder to control and move much faster, while the slow ones get to use the power up's you hit along the way at each gate.  Guess the best one is the one you can win with, but it's all in the driving of your rubber duckie.  For added fun, if you bump another racer, you hear a squeek from the ducks.  It was funny.

Above I show the map of the coarse.  It doesn't look bad there, but it's very deceiving.  The gates are at angles and at one point you have to jump off a ramp.  The lower picture look carefully and you can see the race coarse.  If you miss a gate, it will tell you to go back and won't give a final time till you make it through all gates.  Occasionally a gate didn't rez in right away, but if you follow the course, you will get them all.

If you are on a slow duck, then you will want to hit these power ups.  Hopefully someone doesn't hit it before you though and uses it.  Still not sure which type is duck is better so try them both out.  Loosing the power up but still easier to control may be the way to win.  When you get to the finish line it will tell you your time, but it also posts the last 10 times and top 10 times on the board.  I came close but didn't make it to the top 10.

When you are done there is a dance floor in the middle of the course.  I've never seen a dj here, though a sign say there is one from time to time.  Its quiet and a great place for you and your date or friends.  There is an intan with couples and singles dances.

This was created back in 2010 so it has stood the test of time.  In SL that's like forever!  I'm always looking for fun and creative things to do, and this certainly fulfilled that.

Here's the SLURL if you want to give it a try!

PixelArt Photogardens

Owner: Nessie Naidoo

Flicker: https://www.flickr.com/groups/pixelart-photogardens/

PixelArt Photogardens is a beautiful free-to-use (of course tips are appreciated) photo location and great place to hang out. The main garden is beautiful and romantic. There are swings and blankets with poses for both singles and couples plus there is a beautiful gazebo with a loaded Intan for sharing a special dance with the one you love.

Since you can't rez pose balls at PixelArt, there is a sales area with a demo pose hud for L$1 (or you can purchase the full hud). There is a mens and women's version. The demo has a few poses in it you can use while you are there. This is perfect if you are wanting to take pictures by the AMAZING fountain because it doesn't have any poses in it.

BUT WAIT.... THERE'S MORE!! Take the teleporter to the scene rez deck. (Click the teleporter, select scene rez, the right click and choose teleport.) Here you will find some really fun scenes for taking photos. In each scene there are several places to take pics with both singles and couples poses in them. Look around at the whole scene for all the great spots! In the rainy city scene (see pics below) make sure you click the red fire hydrant to get your free umbrella. As of this writing there there are scenes for a winter garden, pier, rainy city, waterfall, vintage gas station, gothic garden and a summer garden. More scenes are added from time to time.

For fun, after you take the photos you can share them on PixelArt Photogardens flicker page and share with everyone!

As a bonus, PixelArt offers free photography classes. Right now there are 2 classes, "Improve Your SL Photography", and "Taking Your Photos to the Next Level". Contact Nessie Naidoo to schedule a class. I've taken the classes and both are very helpful!

I highly recomend PixelArt Photogardens! See my pics below. I was having soooooo much fun today!!!!!
